Low-income Latinas in Washington County live isolated lives. They are isolated by education, culture and language.

Adelante Mujeres is an intensive full-time school for low-income Latinas and their children. We focus on parenting skills, basic adult education and children's English language skills.

At Adelante Mujeres 24 adult women currently study 5 hours daily. Their children attend a quality pre-school on-site. Students in the adult program study English and math in preparation for earning their GEDs. They also study community leadership.

Families work together to prepare children for beginning school with well developed language, social and cognitive skills. Mothers as well as fathers learn parenting and relationship skills at evening programs.
