Our mission is creating a positive difference in the lives of individuals through random acts of kindness. This charity program has been created by dedicated firefighters and employees frοm the City of Hillsboro, serving on a purely voluntary basis, who truly believe that we can make a difference in our community. As firefighters, we respond into the homes of citizens where we can observe up close the personal situations where people truly need a hand to live and succeed. We seek to plant positive seeds in our neighborhoods to the benefit of the whole community. Our aim is simple - to help our fellow firefighters and city employees give something extra back to the communities they live in and care for. The program is for everyone. All we want is a commitment frοm the heart. We provide a channel for our colleagues to bring donations or requests for help. A simple procedure has been established to address identified needs. Our board has granted requests for such items as diverse as fire escape ladders in a transitional home for women, lap blankets for residents in an adult care facility, removal of a downed tree in the front yard of an elderly woman´s home, and the funeral expenses for a victim of SIDS. |
