Our mission is to build the community's capacity to support its children and families through pooling resources and coordinating services for children and families at the community level. The Center's goal is to help families become more self-sufficient and to increase successful family relationships to the school district and community. The FRC is viewed as a model for assuring families feel comfortable seeking the kinds of information, resources and support services that all citizens need at various times. It provides service by acting as a connection point for families seeking information, referrals, and on-site social services. It supports families that struggle everyday to provide for basic needs such as food, clothing, dental, medical and mental health needs and acted as the stop-gap resource for over 1,500 individuals last year. |
The Center coordinates Medical Teams International Mobile Dental Clinics, parenting and English classes, distributes donated funds for counseling and after-school activities, provides basic employment services, as well as holiday, transportation and prescription assistance, volunteer opportunities, and has a small clothing closet. Each year, the Center gives an average of over 1,000 referrals to community resources, distributes over 150 applications for state assistance and provides over 2,500 direct services. The Tigard-Tualatin Family Resource Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Tax ID # 93-0572833. Donations to the Tigard-Tualatin Family Resource Center are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. |
