B.E.A.T. Riding Center Inc., provides therapeutic riding lessons to children and adults with physical, emotional, psychological and cognitive disabilities. Riding and working with our equine friends is a unique recreational opportunity allowing individuals to rise above their disabilities. The experience often leads clients to become more independent and self confident. Children develop a sense of compassion and concern towards all living beings. B.E.A.T. works to increase awareness of people with disabilities, as well as the therapeutic benefits of horseback riding. B.E.A.T. Riding Center offers three types of therapeutic riding: 1. Recreational and sport riding: approximately 30 full-time students participate in a variety of horse related activities. Approximately 85% of these individuals go on to accomplish specific horsemanship goals as well as therapeutic goals. |
2. Hippotherapy: 10-15 children receive treatment by a licensed health professional to achieve physical goals. The horse influences the client rather than the client controlling the horse. 3. Field Trips: low cost field trips serve over 200 children frοm various programs throughout the year. These students are introduced to horsemanship skills according to their needs. Bradley's Equine Assisted Therapeutic Riding Center Inc. (B.E.A.T.) is a non-profit organization, tax ID# 91-1812174.
