In 1918, an enterprising woman named Minnie Jones Coy established the Jones Hospital, the cornerstone of Tuality Healthcare. With only a fifth grade education, Minnie took the initiative to meet a vital need she saw in the community and set up a hospital in her own home. Today, Tuality Healthcare consists of the 167-bed Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro, and the 48-bed Tuality Forest Grove Hospital. In addition, Tuality provides a complete array of outpatient, specialty, health education and other services.
The Mission of Tuality Healthcare: To provide health care to the community with respect for human dignity and without regard for the recipient’s ability to pay. We believe that compassion encourages healing, that knowledge is the foundation of wellness, and that attention to quality and fiscal stability will enable us to continue service to the community. |
Inherent to this mission is the belief that knowledge is the foundation of wellness. In 1970, the Tuality Healthcare Foundation was established on this basic principle--to promote better healthcare through education and prevention, and to improve the quality of life for families in western Washington County. Through special events, annual giving and major gift programs, and planned giving and estate planning, Tuality Healthcare Foundation works to meet the healthcare needs of western Washington County. The community's generous donations are used to build and renovate facilities, purchase new equipment, provide educational scholarships, fund capital projects, provide important health education classes and programs, and establish endowments for future needs. The Tuality Healthcare Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Foundation's Federal Identification Number is 93-0751507. Donations to The Tuality Healthcare Foundation are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. |
