Since 2005 HomePlate has been the only drop-in service for youth experiencing homelessness, poverty and hunger in Washington County, Oregon. On Thursday nights youth ages 11-24 years old can consistently find a place to provide a hot meal, hygiene supplies and a shower, clothing, games and entertainment, resources, referrals, opportunities for community service, and positive relationships with adults.
HomePlate has built relationships with youth as well as with community members and other social service agencies in order to provide youth with the connections they themselves need: continuing education, housing information, vocational training, medical and mental health services, etc.
|
HomePlate envisions communities where homelessness is a short-term circumstance, not a long term or chronic condition, and youth are supported in their communities.
HomePlate is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Our Tax ID# is 26-1666325. Donations to HomePlate are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. |
